Real Men Read

This morning Mr. Brown visited our class again to read us a story and then give each student a new book. The name of the story was "The Giraffe, and the Pelly, and Me" by Ronald Dahl. The students really enjoyed listening to Mr. Brown read the story and they can't wait to take home their own copy to see what happens at the end. Thanks again to Mr. Brown for coming into our class and volunteering his time to read to us.

Surprise Day... Fox Island!

Monday was our first surprise day of the year. Mrs. West surprised us all and told us we were going to Fox Island to learn about all kinds of plants, animals, habitats, and other cool stuff. We had a great time as you can see from some of our pictures below. Make sure you come to school each and every day. You never know when the next surprise day might be!

Frozen Critters was a fun game. Don't get caught by the predator!

We sang silly songs led by Ms. Grubaugh.

We even cooked s'mores over the fire!

Our tour guide taught us about how some bugs can lay eggs inside of a plant's stem.

We saw fish coming up to the surface to get some food.

A couple other notes:

* We still have swimming for the next 2 Tuesdays. Make sure students are bringing their swimsuits and towels in a bag.

**Homework needs to be done EVERY NIGHT, at least 30 minutes, signed and returned. Some students are still forgetting to do theirs each night.

***We still have not had a surprise day yet. That means any day now we could be going somewhere fun and exciting. Make sure you are at school every day! :)

The group listens to their instructor as she teaches them how to swim.

The other kids wait patiently on the wall as Elias practices his swimming with the teacher.
