Surprise Day... Fox Island!

Monday was our first surprise day of the year. Mrs. West surprised us all and told us we were going to Fox Island to learn about all kinds of plants, animals, habitats, and other cool stuff. We had a great time as you can see from some of our pictures below. Make sure you come to school each and every day. You never know when the next surprise day might be!

Frozen Critters was a fun game. Don't get caught by the predator!

We sang silly songs led by Ms. Grubaugh.

We even cooked s'mores over the fire!

Our tour guide taught us about how some bugs can lay eggs inside of a plant's stem.

We saw fish coming up to the surface to get some food.

VIP: Marcella Nelson

Our VIP for this coming week beginning September 28 will be Marcy Nelson. She has done a great job this year so far and will be an awesome VIP!

A couple other notes:

* We still have swimming for the next 2 Tuesdays. Make sure students are bringing their swimsuits and towels in a bag.

**Homework needs to be done EVERY NIGHT, at least 30 minutes, signed and returned. Some students are still forgetting to do theirs each night.

***We still have not had a surprise day yet. That means any day now we could be going somewhere fun and exciting. Make sure you are at school every day! :)

Swimming!

Today we went swimming again. We had a great time! The students are really doing a good job. They love learning how to swim. We have been going each Tuesday and we still have two more trips left. Don't forget to bring your suit, towel, and a bag to put it in every Tuesday. :)

The group listens to their instructor as she teaches them how to swim.

The other kids wait patiently on the wall as Elias practices his swimming with the teacher.

Cheese! We love to swim!

Other news...
  • Don't forget there is no school on Monday! Happy Labor Day!
  • Tuesday is swimming day. Be sure to bring your swim suit and a towel.
  • Blessings in a Backpack started on Friday. We will send home a bag full of food goodies each Friday for the rest of the year!
  • Homework is in full swing. Each night students should be reading at home for at least 30 minutes. Don't forget to have your parents initial the page and bring it to school EVERY DAY!!
  • Spelling tests are every Friday. Be sure you are studying your 5 words for the week each night.

This year is off to a great start! We have a wonderful class and they are doing an outstanding job. Our goal is to not have any referrals each quarter. So far we have been perfect! Keep up the good work!
